Zero Cost Living - exploring extreme frugality is a new book written by J.R. Delcamp. It explores lifestyles that make it possible for you live in ease and comfort while spending little or no money. The book discusses a host of thrifty techniques, living homeless, living in vehicles, seasteading, homesteading, solar farms, solar greenhouses, owner built houses and cars, living without a car, foraging for food (and everything else), healthy diets and lifestyles, cheap (or free) vacations and recreations, philosophy, economics, and history of thrift, and much more.
This web site is dedicated to expanding and detailing the concepts and specific topics introduced in my book.
March 20, 2010: I am working on creating a new and improved appearance to this web site. I have replaced my 10 year old computer and upgraded my dial up internet service up with 'DSL' making it much easier and faster to do this task.
January29, 2010: A revised first edition with 3 new illustrations and corrections to the text is available from Amazon. Amazon and AJ Spencer Publishing are printing copies I will have available from my home. Contact me at my web jrdel@att.net.
December 13, 2009: I have only a few copies remaining of the second printing of my book. Get one today!
October 23 ,2009: For folks who saw my interview on Ypsi Girl - Comcast channel 17 October 21 and want to buy a copy of Zero Cost Living locally - Ypsilanti Food Co-op had 2 copies for $16 as of October 21. If sold out I will get more copies to the co-op.
The original printing is nearly sold out. A second printing with various revisions and corrections will be available in about two weeks.
August 17, 2009: My book 'Zero Cost Living' is available through Amazon, Booksurge, and from the Author. If you live in Michigan it will be easier and cheaper for you to buy directly from the Author by contacting his web site at jrdel@access4less.net I will sell the book for $12.00 plus shipping. You may buy through Amazon for $18.00 plus shipping ($3 to $5).
August 31, 2009: Zero Cost Living is available on Kindle for $6.00. However please note that in placing the book into Kindle (putting the book into HTML form from Microsoft word) the page numbers were lost. However a table of contents for each chapter has been placed at the beginning of each (of 8) chapters so you can still navigate through the book. Note the Kindle device from Amazon costs about $200 used or perhaps you can borrow one. Libraries I use do not have these devices yet.
August 18,2009: I am currently arranging to sell Zero Cost Living on Kindle, the Amazon 'no paper' book. It is a great idea that could save a lot of money on books, printing books, distribution costs, etc. The Kindle device inself is rather expensive. But I believe this will change, and competitors will come on the market. This trend in technology is consistent with the idea of Zero Cost Living.
Save your old books! Someday some of them may be rare and expensive like the old Superman comic books I threw away as a child.
The subject of ZCL is worthy of much more development than I can achieve in one book. I hope to fill out details in this web site illuminating ZCL and extreme frugality and including many more details and web site links.
Every day - I come across new books, web sites, magazine articles, and ideas from friends relatives, and neighbors that enhance the practicality of ZCL. I intend to include them here as I discover them.
And, here I intend to begin the building of the next edition of ZCL with new ideas, error corrections, and contacts. And, I would like to begin the building of a community of ZCL practicioners through this site.
